I should have been enjoying myself. Instead, I was bored into a sleepful state, legs crossed, then straightened, then yoga toes, then crossed. Arms back to prop me up, then folded to cover my cold nipples. The soothing voice of the shaman grew listless after 3 minutes. I wished I had something small to throw at him like those snap pops we had as kids. Nah — completely would have broken the mood of “peace and serenity.” God, why am I so judgemental?
Okay, focus on the bell, relax, peace.
Did I put the clothes in the dryer?
Did I lock my car doors?
What is the meaning of life?
Why does this drum circle feel like a Baptist church?

Shite, my turn to add an intention or wish or a prayer to the sacred pile.
I wish that we all, myself especially, stopped seeking cheap, bubble gum attention. It’s like cotton candy, this fake attention that melts and disappears in two seconds, and we need more — more — MORE!
Pick one perfect crispy, juicy filling apple. Eat it slowly with all your senses. Let that singular perfection fill your belly and satisfy your sweet tooth until you find the next real piece of fruit.
